Who we are

This website is operated by Marc L., based in Portugal. For questions or concerns, contact us via the feedback form or by email at contact@burnouttest.co.uk.

Assessment data

Assessment answers are processed entirely in your browser. They are never transmitted to us and never stored on any server. When you close or refresh the page, your answers are gone — unless you choose to save your results on this device (see below), in which case only your scores are kept, in your own browser.

Optional: results saved on your device

On the results page you can tick “Save my results on this device”. Only if you do, the date, your overall score and your five dimension scores (not your individual answers) are saved in this browser’s local storage, so you can compare them with later results. They are never transmitted to us or anyone else, and we cannot see them. You can delete them at any time with the “Delete saved results” button on the results page, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Calendar reminder

The “Remind me to retake in 4 weeks” button creates a calendar file (.ics) in your browser and downloads it to your device. It contains only a reminder title, a date and a link to this site, and it is not sent to us. If you import it into a calendar app or service, that provider’s own privacy policy applies.

Feedback form

If you submit feedback via the About page, your message is forwarded to our contact email. Any email address you provide voluntarily is used only to reply to you and is not retained beyond that purpose. Feedback submissions are processed via Formspree (Formspree Privacy Policy).

Cookies

We do not set any cookies ourselves. Consent for advertising is handled by Google’s consent tool (the message shown on your first visit), which records your choice and may store it in a cookie on your device. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements, which may set third-party cookies on your device to serve relevant ads. The optional on-device results described above use your browser’s local storage, not cookies. You can manage or opt out of personalised advertising through:

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. If you accept cookies, Google may use information about your visits to this and other websites to serve personalised ads. If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalised — served based on the content of this page only, with no tracking cookies set. The legal basis for personalised advertising is your consent, which you can provide or withdraw via the cookie notice on first visit or at any time through Google Ad Settings. Google’s full data practices are described in Google’s Privacy Policy.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data held about you. Because the assessment collects no personal data by design, there is in practice nothing to access or delete. For any queries about data relating to feedback submissions, contact us via the feedback form.

Children

The assessment is available to all ages. No personal data is collected from any user, including those under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
